Quality beats quantity every time

Example I created a brand-new review site about a particular software that I used and recommended. This site was only a few days old when I started building links to it from linkvana all I did was a small amount of social bookmarking through linkvana (that’s another feature) and build 10 backlinks using my main keyword by creating 10 100 word posts. Within a week and a half of creating the website I ranked position #2 in Google for my main keyword and stayed there.

Now all the rest of the websites in the top 10 had hundreds of backlinks but I still beat them to the number one position with only about 30 backlinks from the linkvana network.

Now this is because quality beats quantity every time when it comes to link building I had roughly about 2% of the backlinks that the number two position website had but I still rank higher than them this is because I had great unique content on the website and I also had a very high quality backlinks from linkvana.

It worked out that for every link I built with linkvana it was the equivalent to 122 of their backlinks this is because they’re backlinks were very low quality which means I only needed a few high-quality backlinks from linkvana to outrank them.

A lot of people don’t understand that about link building with seo software its not always about the number of links its more about the quality of those links this is why a lot of people involved in seo build link pyramid to filter the links up so that the few links that are pointing to your main site are very valuable and high PR.

A lot of people believed that if the number one website in Google for their main keyword had 10,000 backlinks if they got 10,002 backlinks they would outrank them but that is simply not the case because not all back links are created equal some like linkvana backlinks are much more powerful than others.

Keyword research is a very important aspect of any Seo strategy a lot of people overlook this aspect completely and believe that just building a website or blog and building enough backlinks to it with a good seo software will get you rank on the first page of Google.

Well unfortunately I’m here to tell you that not everything is as easy as that and there are some keywords that are just going to be out of your reach if your website is fairly new the trick is to establish yourself as an authority in that niche.

What is a long tail keyword?

A long tail keyword is best explained as a sentence or more than a couple of words for example “dog training” would not be a long tail keyword but “best dog training techniques” would be.

You see the difference is that it is made up of a lot more words hence the name longtail keyword. It’s a lot easier to rank well for longtail keywords than it would be to rank for single or two word keywords, this is why it’s a lot easier to establish herself as a authority in your niche by targeting the longtail keywords if you rank well for a number of them by rank well I mean on the first page of Google it slowly builds authority and trust for your website in the search engines eyes.

Now the more the search engines trust and respect your site and they see that you are providing great unique content for the visitors and you rank well for the longtail keywords it will become a lot easier to rank for some of the main keywords for example “dog training”.

The best advice would be to do very detailed keyword research for your website or blog find lots of longtail keywords that include the main keyword that you want to rank for here’s a few as an example.

You see we’ve added lots of longtail keywords to our list of keywords we would like to rank well for and they also include our main keyword which is “dog training” over time the more content you write about this subject and the more you build high-quality backlinks using these keywords the better you will rank overall for your main keyword.

Now some keywords are a lot easier to rank well for than others this is where you need to analyse the competition the top 10 results for that long tail keyword this is where keyword seo software comes in it would take a very long time to find all these keywords using the Google keyword tool and also analyse the competition.

As you can see the more greens you can find in the top 10 these are it would be to rank for that keyword and you can tell this just by glancing at the page but here is a couple of examples.

In this image you can see there is a lot of red boxes and all of the backlink numbers and the domain ages are very high which means this keyword would be very difficult to rank for especially if your site is new.

As you can see a lot of the boxes in this image or green and the backlink numbers and the competition in general this keyword is a lot easier it would be very easy to rank your new site in the top 10 for this keyword that is the reason why we focus on longtail keywords when you first getting started.

Even if you have an established website sometimes it is a lot easier to go after the longtail keywords rather than competing for some of the more difficult keywords in Google the reason that I believe it makes more sense to go for longer tail keywords than one big keyword is because it takes a lot less time and effort to rank for a longtail keyword, and the benefits can be just the same as ranking for one of the big keyword terms.

Just imagine this you find one keyword that gets 20,000 searches a month now this keyword is very difficult to rank for and you’re going to spend a lot of time competing with other websites. Whereas if you found 20 longtail keywords with low competition that had 1000 searches a month you could easily rank well for these over a couple of months and before you know it you’ve got 20,000 visitors a month and you didn’t really have to compete very hard with your competition.

This is the true value of a great keyword seo software you will be able to find great longtail keywords that gets a good amount of monthly searches and the competition is low which means you can generate thousands of visitors to your website each month without having to work particularly hard I think it makes more sense to spend your time finding easy to rank for keywords that it does fighting with your competition and having to build masses of backlinks.
